About EDUCATION LOCAL EXPERTISE CENTRE UGANDA
Education Local Expertise Center Uganda (ELECU) is a local NGO founded in 2009 by the Edukans Foundation Netherlands as ‘a Local Expertise Center’ to coordinate and support Education activities in Uganda. In 2010 ELECU was registered as an NGO and began operating independently with systems, policy, staff and board of directors. ELECU works closely with field level Ugandan organisations while building their capacity to implement programmes and projects. In addition ELECU independently implemented field activities especially the teacher effectiveness and active learning model. ELECU is therefore a fully functional and independent local NGO.
ELECU focus areas of operation include the Northern, Eastern and Western Uganda with the secretariat in Kampala where ELECU engages with National level and field level NGOs. ELECU works with Civil Society Organizations, Government of Uganda, and the private sector. ELECU is a member of the Uganda National NGO forum, the Forum for Education NGOs in
