Kirabo Empowerment Ministries The name of the organisation KIRABO is derived from one of the names of the founders and Executive Director. KIRABO means GIFT. The Executive director grew up as an orphan after she lost her father when she was about to make 5 years old. She was the first born to her father and second born to her mother. Her father died at 26 years old leaving three children and left Kirabo’s mother at 25 years old. These parents had officially married at 19 and 20 years old in a protestant church. Both parents stopped in primary school in primary three. The mother struggled so much to raise money to cater for her children. She did not have a job but tried all her best to do petty jobs like selling firewood, washing clothes for people in order to cater for the children. She wanted so much her children to go to school because she hated to see them suffer as she was suffering. All the children studied with the help of sponsors and got jobs.
