Lessons for Life was established in 2007 by the late Shane O'Neill, Chief Strategy Officer of our founding corporate partner, Liberty Global. During his travels in Africa, Shane met children from disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom had been forced to become full-time carers for younger siblings and seriously ill family members. Shane’s vision was to improve the circumstances of these vulnerable children through education. Ten years on, Liberty Global continues to champion our work. In fact, it’s thanks to their ongoing support that the bulk of the money we raise can go directly to the programmes and partners we support.
