About Tropical Bank Uganda
Tropical Bank is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is licensed and supervised by the Bank of Uganda, the country's central bank and national banking regulator.
The bank was established in 1973 as the Arab Libyan Bank for Foreign Trade & Development. In 1994, the name was changed to Tropical Africa Bank Limited. In 2006, the bank re-branded to Tropical Bank.
Tropical Bank has a wider reach through its membership in the Libyan Foreign Bank Group. The Libyan Foreign Bank network consists of about 45 participations in banks and companies spread in 28 countries. Tropical Bank direct affiliation with the Libyan Foreign Bank insures coherent strategy and alignment with the whole group. Tropical Bank can also facilitate for clients well-matched banking products and services when they conduct business with members of the Libyan Foreign Bank group.
