The incorporation of Olam Tanzania marked Olam's entry into East Africa. The operations were started with the establishment of the principal office at Dar es Salaam and a branch in Mtwara to oversee the raw cashew nuts and sesame procurement operations. Following a strategy of product and geographical expansion. Olam Tanzania has added coffee, cotton, cocoa, pulses and peanuts to its product portfolio. Olam has also invested in setting up cashew processing facilities and is the largest exporter of cashew kernels out of Tanzania.
