FM Academia began playing; dancing and singing together on the 15th of May 1991. The band-members found each other in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and have been together for more than 15 years. The band is internationally well known, and it has toured Kenya, Comoro, Madagascar as well as Dubai and Oman. FM Academia ? Wana wa Ngwasuma? were awarded the best album in 2007; best song 2007 (Kili Tanzania music award) best swahili song 2008
